Robert Williams painting offers the viewer a wealth of things to wonder about. Robert was among the last few artists on our "wish list" for the project. He is well known for his multi faceted paintings and irreverent approach to…..well most everything he creates. Robert is a maverick and founder of Juxtapoz Magazine.
Delivering the crate to Robert was an experience in itself. Robert and his wife Suzanne met Shane Guffogg and me at the door. They invited us into a small parlor near the door to talk with us about the project (and our views on abstract painting) before accepting the crate and agreeing to participate in the project. They have the most amazing chopped and painted cars. One for Suzanne and one for Robert. You can see them at the Petersen Automotive Museum, “The Juxapoz School”, through June 2019.
The Petersen, LACMA and MOMA all hosted screenings of a film about Robert and Suzanne, “Mr. Bitchin”. If you missed the screening you can downloaded it at MRBITCHIN.COM Watch it! If you think you know Robert Williams you ain't seen nothin yet!
